The universtiy Archives
The Archives holds material relating to the University and to individuals and organisations in the Tayside area and beyond. This includes paper documents, volumes, diaries, photographs, maps and plans, and film and sound material.
The archives are open to members of the public, free of charge, and hold extensive collections of interest to a wide range of researchers and family and local historians. Areas covered include education, religion, social and business history, medicine and health, and local and family history.
Visiting us is a straightforward experience. There are staff on hand to help and advise at all times. Online and hard copy catalogues are available and it is also possible to search by subject.
When visiting the Archives for the first time, please bring proof of identification. We will then issue you with a reader ticket.
Material may only be consulted in the Archives and may not be borrowed.
We are situated in the basement of the main University Tower Building and are open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Conservation Studio

The Book & Paper Conservation Studio is a highly specialised resource within Scotland where a team conservators care for our national heritage. Based at the University of Dundee, it deals with everything from world-class collections of museums and archives, to single, cherished items belonging to members of the public. Philippa Sterlini, Senior Conservator, will give a talk about the work of the Studio and can give tips on how to look after your family treasures.
