Join us at the Mills Observatory in Balgay Park for a summer-solstice encounter with our nearest star – the Sun!

Former City Astronomer Brian Kelly will be telling us all about the Sun, its many fascinating features and its effects on the Earth. If weather permits, we’ll be able to observe the Sun by projecting its image with the observatory’s mobile telescope.

There will also be a guided tour of the current night sky in the observatory’s planetarium, showing which planets and stars to look out for during the short summer nights.
