Dundee WestFest is delighted to be working with two local yoga teachers who are offering two very different approaches to yoga. Both are offering a range of free taster sessions targeted for different age groups and interest.

For a yoga / pilates / fitness experience then try the sessions on offer on Balgay Hill (Sunday 20th June 2:30pm (adult) at the Blossom Studio, Hawkhill Medical Centre (Tuesday 22nd June 5:40pm (adults) and Friday 25th June 1:00pm (toddlers + adult) by Andrea Leplae.

Blossom

F I T N E S S Y O G A incorporates deep stretches, yoga postures and pilates exercises, set to music.

Y O G A - L A T E S blends breathing and postures used in yoga with the deep muscle awareness and toning of Pilates.

Each exercise is selected for it's merit in improving fitness - flexibility, co-ordination, balance, strength, muscular endurance and relaxation. Extreme movements which exceed optimal ranges of motion are avoided. The result is a safe, effective, flowing set of movements which is fun to learn and do.

Sivananda Yoga is a complete and holistic approach to Hatha Yoga. Proper Relaxation* Proper breathing * Proper exercise * Proper diet * Positive thinking*. The White Room Yoga method is to work with selected postures that are as effective on physical body as they are on your mental wellbeing, bringing out the goodness that exists within - one’s true nature. It’s a discipline for the body and mind but of course there’s still time for fun ... just don‘t forget to breath

‘More than just a yoga class it’s a lifestyle’

The attention to detail that is everywhere in the studio and in the teaching makes White Room a unique experience.

Junior - imagination runs wild with this group, when things get a bit too exciting we'll practice balloon breathing, whisper stories, sing songs and play yoga games.

Children’s - a bit more information, where they feel the stretch, what happens to their bodies and their minds? Yoga will boost confidence (breathing deeply before an exam)

Teens - building inner and outer strength, concentration, breathing and relaxation, promote feeling of wellbeing, repeating positive words to encourage positive change.

Later Years - 'of course one is never too late to start yoga' our present Queen Elizabeth's comment to me on her visit to Dundee's Baxter Park re-opening I she's so right.

Her free tasters sessions are on:

Monday 21 June 4:30 - 5:45 pm (8 - 12 years)
