Kate Armstrong: What she says about herself:
I write about outdoor things mostly, and very slowly. I have lived up and
down the east of Scotland for lots of years, belong to a writers' group called Scones, translate a bit and am working a bit on writing prose rather than poetry. Prefer poetry read aloud to the printed word.

Is a retired teacher who, while encouraging students to write (Poet WN Herbert and novelist James Meek are ex- pupils) only started writing himself relatively recently, with the Broughty Ferry Environmental Project Eco Poets group. He has contributed to two pamphlets by the Eco Poets, Inspired by Nature and Stories Older than the World, and has had work published in Poetry Scotland and New Writing in Scotland. His interests include the Scots language, walking, bird watching and real ale. |

Andy Jackson
Was born in Manchester but moved to Scotland nearly 20 years ago. He has appeared in several magazines and publications including New Writing Scotland and Poetry News, and he won the National Galleries writing competition in 2008.
