Drawing of Blak Bob

Drawing of Black Bob kindly supplied by DC Thomson & Co. Ltd

The character Black Bob first appeared in The Dandy in 1944. Following that, the intrepid sheepdog featured in a comic strip in The Weekly News, which ran for many years. Now Black Bob is back, in a new book being published by Geddes and Grosset. It features artwork by the original artist, Jack Prout and his successor, Keith Robson.

West Fest are delighted to announce they are hosting the launch of this publication, and all are welcome to come along and meet the team behind the book. Publisher Ron Grosset will introduce the book and there will be talks by the book’s editor Morris Heggie and Keith Robson.

Also on display, as part of The Dundee Boys exhibition, will be original pages of Black Bob artwork drawn by Jack Prout.

Entrance is free
